Back in the Saddle and Checking the Barometer

I'm back in the States and ready to kick out the jams.
After a full twenty-four hours of flight time I've arrived back in Houston, and back to the enormous task of writing and recording. Tonight I've unearthed some old amateur recordings of songs I had forgotten about. I think I'll make a video of one of them and post it tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
Apparently I've been told that I'm flying to somewhere about two hours south of Tampa, Florida to take a deep-sea fishing excursion on a recently purchased boat. News came a few days before heading back home. It sounds like fun and I'm not one to pass up a trip like that. Should be fun. I had the good fortune of playing a tune at a wedding in Adelaide, Australia
while I was abroad and am extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to partake in the special day! All came off without a hitch and I'm happy with the performance. I thought it'd be cool to play "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, but as I'm known to do, I spiced it up with a finger-picked clean-electric guitar arrangement of the song. I'm sure someone video taped it so I'll get a chance to hear/see it at some point. Well, I guess after Sunday when I return from my deep sea excursion I'll be back in the saddle again for the long haul, ready to record the remainder of what's ready to go.
I'm toying with the idea of hitting up a little Irish pub downtown called The Muckey Duck on some Monday night to showcase a few of the tunes and try to get a barometer on the reaction factor for them and the direction of my writing. Finger's crossed that it indicates sunny skies from here on out!
