Friday, early morning, very early, I was informed a friend who works at an animal clinic here in the Houston area had seven Labrador puppies that were left behind the clinic a previous night, and were going to be put to sleep that morning. After careful consideration I offered to help. Just before three o'clock Friday afternoon I showed up to the clinic and the pups made the trip back to my place with me.
The vet was very gracious and is helping me treat an unfortunate case of mange they all have, as well as vaccinating them.
After just a couple of days I'm happy to report they are all full of piss and vinegar (half of which is literal), and looking and feeling much better.
Seven is indeed quite a handful but I'm happy that I could take part in something bigger than me, because the way I see it, these little pups are going to grow into beautiful loving dogs that will no doubt bring a multitude of joy to the great homes they're placed in.
